It looks like I was cast for Sinag-Tala! I have a speaking part. I'm quite proud of myself. This just means I have to sell more tickets! Hopefully I do have a lot of support. I'm very nervous about it all.

Ten Affections
First affection is of the dimples in the cheeks,
Second affection, of the glow in gentle eyes,
Third affection, of the shiny flowing hair,
Fourth affection, of the charming face like a flower,
Fifth affection, of mellow character,
Sixth affection, of filial piety to parents,
Seventh affection, of diligence in study,
Eighth affection, of friendship without envy,

It feels like life is going to pick up the pace very soon. Hopefully I can keep up with it. I don't want to get overwhelmed and not be able to handle what I need to handle. With the right focus though, I should be alright. Plus, I have so much support from my friends, I don't think it will be an issue.
They say you are your ten closest friends. That is true. The more you hang out with someone, the more you pick up on their gestures, or short sayings that they have. I've been trying to associate myself with people that are very goal oriented, and doing something to get there. If I set my compass right, I will get to my destination.

I was sorting through some video tapes that I have and found some very cool footage. Two tapes were of the Helobung Cultural Troupe from the T'boli tribe of Lake Sebu in Mindanao. I watched them when they performed at Sacramento City College and California State University, Sacramento. One of the most awesome things about the footage is that it is THE T'boli Tribe, not a representation, not a dramatization. It's rare, and invaluable to me.

XPO parties are never a let down. Sure, this was a collaboration with the Rho Dawgs, the SOPis, and the LSG's, but of course I have to give the XPO bros the credit. Call me biased. The house was definitely having a good time, with minimal security issues, and tons of dancing and beads flying everywhere. I did my usual, ordered my drinks, sat down, and greeted folks. It's always good reuniting with friends that you haven't seen in a while, although with the blaring music, it's not quite the right environment to start catching up. I met a few people, with the hopes that I'll run into the future. In addition, everybody should try a "Liquid Heroin". It's a "Liquid Cocaine" with a twist of Coke. Not bad if I do say so myself. Also, I recommend a drink that's a quarter pineapple juice, a quarter coconut rum (Malibu recommended), and half Grey Goose Vodka. Grey Goose is definitely a must. Absolut will work too, but almost any other Vodka is not dry enough and leaves too much of an aftertaste. I should get into tending bar too. More rehearsals for me today, and a fling at a veteran's meeting. Busy is good. It means you are being productive.

I got a call yesterday from a dear friend of mine, and they asked me to speak for their club about the veterano issue. This will be the second time within the past two months that I have been asked to speak on a subject of Philippine culture. I'm quite honored, and of course I accepted, as it is a personal goal of mine to teach as many people as I can, whether they listen or not.
Today also marks the two year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States. A lot has changed since that fateful day. Some for the better, some for the worse. As far as the world, I pray that humanity can come together to agree on the prospect of understanding each other's differences.

Yesterday was my lola's eighty-fifth birthday. I was so busy yesterday, all I could do was give her a gift and wish her a happy birthday. So today, I took the day off and I am going to take her to lunch. She's really hard to get a gift for, because she's is very picky.

Busy, busy. Fortunately, I still enjoy what I do, and smile about the little things. All those things really add up. For example, I was invited by a coworker to join them at a party. It's not so much that I want to party, but rather that Jolene would like to spend hang out outside of the work environment. But, I had to regretfully decline the offer, and postpone it to a better time.
