  • At what point does complaining turn into too much complaining?  I'm a strong proponent of staying positive, of making it a point to be happy.  Some would argue that doing so would be tantamount to not being true to yourself and in denial.  I do agree, that to a certain extent, being able to vent is consoling, and helps in the healing process, in a cathartic sort of way.  One has to keep in mind that complaining is not the equivalent to solving a problem.  Asking for advice is.  Taking direct action is.  However, to only complain is simply whining.

In staying positive, one doesn't have to ignore what happened.  One just has to focus more on the positive, rather than the negative aspects of the events that have taken place.

I must quote an article from a local newspaper.  It read, "Life is too short to be going through it homely, tired, and ugly.  Sometimes, we take life too seriously.  We just can't do that.  Find little things to get tickled about and laugh.  Like Superman.  Find ways to be happy in the moment.  A lot of people say, "I'll be happy when I pay off all my bills."  "I'll be happy when I retire."  "I'll be happy when school is over."  It doesn't work that way.  You want to be happy NOW.  See, there are no guarantees. No one says you are going to be here two, three, or four years form now.  So you want to be happy right now in the moment.  You can start by reading this next line out loud...

"I must make a commitment to be happy - RIGHT NOW, with all I got.

"Now go find someone, shake their hand, and tell them, 'You deserve to be happy.'

"So make a commitment to be happy.  Make this your mantra.  Just enjoying the sunset, or looking at life, looking at nature, or going for a walk wil give texture to life's fabric.  It's the little things in life that count.  Then, spread that happiness.  It's contagious.  Momma told me so."
