I came to a realization a couple of days ago that pure free speech is not synonymous with respectful speech. Someone can be derogatory and rude and still claim free speech. In a legal sense, other laws come into play from that point, as in the case of libel or slander. I'm sure the laws are even more extensive than that, but further research is necessary to sort through the books.

My probate/inheritance hearing was today, and so far so good. The hearing was continued to August 4, 2006, but I felt affirmed by what the judge had to say. I guess I may have a future in law after all. It's certainly something else to consider. I enjoy the challenge, and so far it's been good. The real test is when things are bad though, isn't it?
