What can brown do for America?
October is Filipino American History Month. This is a significant time to study the advancement of Filipino Americans in the history of the United States. This is another opportunity for all Americans to learn and appreciate more about Filipino Americans and their contributions to our nation, these United States of America.
Back on October 18, 1587, Filipinos landed in Morro Bay, California. Don't believe me? This was recorded in H.R. Wagner's Unamono's Voyage to California. This was also reported in the "Quarterly of the California Historical Society" in July 1923 and more recently published by Lorraine Jacobs Crouchett in her book Filipinos in California (1982), annotating John Walton Caughey in his book, California (1953). Ever since that time, Filipinos have been an integral part in the development of North America and the United States of America.
I hope that we can share knowledge with each other and learn from each other.
